Professor Naoki Shinohara is an IEEE Distinguished Microwave Lecturer. In this public lecture, theory, technologies, applications and current R&D status of the wireless power transfer will be presented. The talk will cover potential applications of wireless power transfer to provide energy for mobile phones, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and electrical cars, and also the feasibility of transferring solar energy from space to the Earth. Professor Shinohara is vice chair of the IEEE MTT-S Technical Committee 26 (Wireless Power Transfer and Conversion) and an advisory committee member of IEEE Wireless Power Transfer Conference.
