February 2013 saw the 1st birthday of the Raspberry Pi. Presentation and speaker information:

Dr. Ravi N. Margasahayam serves as the Co-Chair for Ground Safety Review Panel (GSRP) that ensures the safety of all Payloads and Science experiments integrated at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Florida, USA, on their way to the International Space Station (ISS). He received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in India. After moving to the United States, he continued higher studies earning a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering; a Master’s in Business Administration in Corporate Finance and Strategic Marketing, and a Doctorate in General Business Management.
For the past 25 years at NASA, Dr. Margasahayam has worked on many programs including Space Shuttle, Atlas, Delta, Titan, X-33, EELV, HLLV, STARDUST, ARES 1-X, and the ISS.
Earlier, as a Project Systems Engineer, Dr. Margasahayam was responsible for transporting the Space Shuttle Vehicle to the pad and getting it ready for launch. He is also NASA’s international expert and lead scientist on Rocket Launch-induced Noise and Vibration Technology. In his career, he has supported over 100+ missions of the Space Shuttle. Prior to his joining NASA, he embarked on decade-long journey spanning multiple technical disciplines with diverse industries such as railroads, mining, helicopters, commercial airplanes, and military aircrafts at Boeing.
Dr. Margasahayam has received numerous awards during 40+ years of his professional engineering career. In 1996, he was awarded NASA’s prestigious Silver Snoopy Award for exceptional engineering and safety innovation on the Space Shuttle. He has also the received commendation from many international universities and foreign space agencies. He has authored and presented over 50+ peer reviewed technical papers, nationally and internationally. He organized and co-chaired the Ninth International Congress on Sound and Vibration, ICSV9 Congress, in Orlando, Florida, which was co-sponsored by NASA Kennedy Space Center. Over 650+ research engineers, acousticians, academicians, and industry leaders from 70+ countries attended the congress. Recently, he wrote a chapter in “Infinite Worlds” book on the last Hubble Space Telescope mission. His photograph is displayed in a $100 Million dollar museum dedicated to Space Shuttle Atlantis at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center Visitor Center. NASA Space Shuttle Program - IET Manch...
