The Surrey Local Network, which is made up of nearly 5,000 engineers and technicians in and around Surrey, is managed by two groups, the main committee that meets six times a year and an events operations group which meets on an ad-hoc basis. Meetings are normally held at the University of Surrey and everything is organised entirely by our volunteers.  We also have a Retired Members Group, for more information please go to this link.


 


IET Surrey is run by a group of volunteers that make all the events and activities possible. Volunteering for the IET is a hugely rewarding experience, and can present opportunities in developing networks and skills, and build up professional development experience which can be used in recording Continued Professional Development. It is a particularly rewarding experience for young engineers, and can form a valuable submission for professional registration. Involvement can be as little as helping to identify topics for the next events, or helping promote the events within your company networks. We would also ask members to always check this website for details of new events and any alterations and amendments particularly venue or date changes.


We often  film or photograph our events and upload material  to our community websites or social media pages, and may even do live streaming with IET TV in the future.  If this is a problem for any member or guest please talk to the organiser of the event on the actual day.
