I recently attended the UKSEDS Space Conference up in Edinburgh on 2 March 2019.  It’s the first conference I’ve ever been to and I had a great time meeting all the other exhibitors, together with lots of amazing students.ea4d8439f6084c2b1184a88812fd4dd6-huge-iet-satellite-stand.jpgThere was a lot of interest in the sponsored stand that the IET Satellite Systems & Applications Network organised and I was pleased that some of our wonderful volunteers were able to help out over the two days of the conference.

I also managed to spend some time having a go in the simulator docking the Soyuz spacecraft to the International Space Station.  I was surprised that even with my slightly numb fingers I managed it first time and have the certificate to prove it.  That will be a great memento of an excellent conference.  I was just so disappointed to have to leave on the Saturday due to another engagement on Sunday. Sarah Singleton one of our Satellite TPN volunteers was also tempted to have a go in the simulator as well.

Looking forward to the announcement later this summer as to the venue for the 2020 conference.
