Rohde & Schwarz is initiating a quest to find the most innovative and unusual uses for the R&S Scope Rider, the rugged handheld oscilloscope with lab performance and functionality.

Since we introduced the R&S Scope Rider we have come across many examples of the different ways in which our customers are using the instrument. This made us think; why not run a competition to search for the most unusual or innovative applications where the Scope Rider could be used?

To start the competition we sent an R&S Scope Rider into space with the entire mission being filmed by The Institution of Engineering and Technology’s IET.tv. The film footage we recovered was better than we could have ever hoped for, truly highlighting the robustness of our portable oscilloscope!

To watch the R&S Scope Rider on its journey into space please follow the links below. There are two versions of the film, a 2 minute video to launch the competition and a full 10 minute documentary.

2 Minutes 2 Win

10 Minute Documentary

With the R&S Scope Rider being used in the lab, in the field, and now in space, we are asking you to tell us - how would you use it?

Step 1- Write a short explanation of how you would use the R&S Scope Rider and submit your entry at our competition website
We are looking for the most unusual or innovative use-cases.

Step 2 - Show us how you would use it.

We will select the 10 most unusual or innovative use-cases with each receiving a prize of a GoPro Hero4 Silver camera.

The 10 runners-up will be consulted and issued a loan R&S Scope Rider and invited to create their own 2-minute video demonstrating their idea. The loan R&S Scope Riders will then be returned with one lucky winner being selected based on a combination of social media reaction and the judges’ final opinion. The winner will be presented with the star prize of an R&S Scope Rider.

Entries are open from today, 1 June 2016 and the first stage will close on 1 August 2016.
