Which way next?
This is a common question in this topsy-turvy world in which we currently find ourselves. Fortunately, some of the Manufacturing Technical Network (TN) Committee managed to meet at Savoy Place before lockdown – where we agreed that we needed to take a step back and answer this question for our TN.

We are pleased to share with you that we have now published our aims and objectives as part of looking at how we can better engage, share, and work with you as our peers and colleagues.

In brief, our purpose is to promote and raise awareness of developments in manufacturing and technology using presentations, online events, publications and social media.

You can find our full aims and objectives attached or via this link. https://communities.theiet.org/communities/files/59/18456

I love this picture from our last meeting showing some of the committee and stakeholders - even at the end of a long and productive session we’re energised with a passion to help build a better future for manufacturing. If this sounds like something in which you’d like to be involved – then please get in touch. We’d be thrilled to hear from you on what activities you'd like to see. If you’d like to volunteer to be a part of the committee to shape this going forward, then please get in touch via email to GHadley@theiet.org. It’s a great opportunity to share, learn and grow our networks.

We’ve identified that the next event we will run will focus on how manufacturing has / needs to change in response to the global pandemic. Later in May we’ll publish our next blog – asking for your thoughts and ideas on this topic and what you’d like to see in the event. You could even suggest a speaker, or volunteer to join the committee to help form this, and other events.
