I'm delighted to announce below, the speakers for our April event in MalaysiaDr. Tan Chee Pin (Edwin) is an Associate Professor at the School of Engineering, Monash University Malaysia. His research interest lies mainly in the use of observers to estimate states and faults in dynamic systems. He has published widely in the top Control theory journals such as Automatica, IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, and IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics. He is also a member of the Conference Editorial Board of the IEEE Control Systems Society. At Monash University, he heads the Mechatronics Engineering program, which is heavily involved in technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution, both in teaching and research. Under his leadership, the Mechatronics Engineering program has developed solutions using 4th Industrial Revolution technologies for various industries, in the manufacturing, robotics and transport sector – these achievements have been highlighted in multiple appearances in the print media, as well as an interview on the radio station BFM. which can be found online

Kevin Tan Sze Pin, currently is the Director of Iconix Technology Sdn. Bhd. and is very active in enabling Industry 4.0 solutions in Malaysia. 

Kevin has 20 years of working experience in the electronic industry. Prior to this, Kevin managed Selangor Human Resource Developmen Center’s (SHRDC) Electrical and Electronics Strategic Business Unit and was actively involved in curriculums development, technical trainings and consultancy for the manufacturing, automation, R&D and agricultural industries. He was also the Design Integrator lead for Intel Malaysia’s Platform Technology and Product Design Integrations responsibled for the integration and delivery of Electrical, Mechanical and Thermal Performance Specifications and Substrate Design Rules for new Packaging Technology Platform’s Technology Target Specifications, with involvement from initial technology and products definitions to high volume manufacturing. Kevin also held the position of Senior Process and Equipment Engineer with Intel Malaysia where he was actively involved in new technology and equipments development as well as transfers activities of various microprocessor products in Test Engineering of Intel Malaysia.


Kevin graduated with first class honours in Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from University of Malaya and holds a Masters of Engineering in Microelectronics from Multimedia University, Malaysia. He was also the 2014 IBM ASEAN SmartCamp Finalist, ICT Council Member of University of Malaya, PSDC Competent Business Partner, EMC Lab., Managing Partner/ Principal of AppAsia Berhad, and partner to Beckhoff, Siemens, Igus, Tridonic, Huawei, National Instruments, Rohde & Schwarz, IEM, UM and UTM. Kevin also received HR Vendor Award of The Year 2016 and 2016 SME100 Fast Moving Companies Award.
