Advanced control systems have the potential to play a vital role in the realisation of cost-effective Wave Energy generation technology. WES wishes to realise this potential through the innovation call for Control Systems, starting with funding for Feasibility Studies and progressing to design, development and demonstration activities.

Relevant technology transfer opportunities exist in many industrial sectors. Organisations from sectors such as Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Automotive, Mining, Offshore and Sub-Sea vessel stability & manoeuvring could all make valuable contributions. WES hopes to support collaboration between academia, industry, wave energy specialists and new entrants to tackle this exciting control system challenge.

This is the first of a 3 stage programme for the Control Systems call.  Up to 100% of project costs, via a contract for Engineering Design Studies, are available under this call for Solution Design proposals. WES can offer up to £47K (excluding VAT) per project of up to 3 month duration, with applicants free to contribute further funds if desired. Applications must be submitted by 12th June 12.00 mid%u2011day.

A webinar will be held on Thursday 13th April and a brokerage event is planned for Friday 12th May in Edinburgh. Please note registration for both is essential. Find out more on the website
