The IoT TPN has launched a new event around the Internet of Things in the Healthcare sector! An aging population is a global challenge and the number of chronic diseases is on the rise.

While technology such as IoT cannot prevent the population from ageing or eradicate chronic diseases, it can help to mitigate the situation and improve the quality of life.

Big Data: How Smart Medical Devices Can Change the Future ...IoT technology allows for real-time monitoring of patients either through implantable or wearable devices. Vital medical information such as heartbeat, glucose level and aspiration can be sent to medical centres for feedback and analysis. This would enable accurate, fast turnaround data-driven insights to fuel better decision making

The challenges in doing this, however, are immense. Data security, privacy, accuracy and, integration of different devices and standards are all major issues that the industry need to resolve for the benefits to be truly realised.

This half day seminar will look at these challenges as well as current applications. It is your chance to hear from a wide range of speakers and network with people working in IoT, manufacturing, cyber security and the NHS.
