2017 geared up in style for the ARTS TPN with their Electrification in Motorsports Seminar which was held at Coventry Transport Museum.  This location really complimented the event topic, with displays of cars from world rallying to F1.  At the event itself we had our own exhibits as well to enjoy during the networking sessions, in the shape of a student formula electric car from University of Surrey and two electric bikes from Saietta and the University of Nottingham.    Click here to read this excellent technical article that we've produced around the seminar topic and also a filmd Techbite which you can view below.

The TPN also took the opportunity to present their 2016 MotoE Racing prizes to the University Bath and Nottingham teams.

If you’ve not yet seen our videos that we produced at an earlier MotoE racing finale at Silverstone, there’s an opportunity to catch-up with these here .

Electric motorsports continues for the TPN with their ongoing support for the MotoE Racing 2017 series and this year it looks like at least 3 of the races will be in the UK at Oulton Park, Snetterton and hopefully Anglesey with the season finale at Castle Donnington.  We’ll be visiting the races to keep you posted on the latest developments and challenges for the teams, so keep an eye out here for the videos, images and blogs in due course.  There may also be the opportunity for visits to the Paddocks to meet the teams and view the technology at close hand, details will be announced in our Highlights section once we’ve finalised these with the race promoter.

Together with a colleague, I’m currently working with John Walker one of the ARTS TPN volunteers on a joint seminar with the ITS(UK) to be held in London on 16 May 2017.  This will be on the fascinating subject of Behavioural Psychology in Transport and Behavioural Insights (“nudge”), and will indicate the potentially huge scope for applying them in Transport.  We’re just finalising the speaker programme for this event and will be publicising the details soon soon.

Another activity that we’re getting close to finalising is our joint event with Highways England which will be a workshop on Connected Corridors at IET Austin Court, Birmingham on 28 June 2017.

Our volunteers are also busy supporting our Events Production & Services team with the RTIC Interactive seminar  which is going to be held on 9 May 2017 in Birmingham.

Finally, If money was no object what car would you buy and why? I'd have to opt for a Bugatti T35, I love vintage/veteran cars and the thought of powering along the roads in a T35 has been my dream for a long time.  So if there's anyone out there who owns one and would like to help me achieve my ambition then please contact me.
