The next meeting of the group, on 16 November, will include a visit to the Shellmex clock by Gillett & Johnston at 80 Strand, London.


The Archives also holds collections on the history of electric clocks - the above image is taken from an advertising pamphlet for the Synchronome Company, founded by Frank Hope-Jones. The IET has an original Synchronome master clock, and the clock face in the Kelvin Lecture Theatre is a Synchronome, although it is no longer connected to the original system,
