Undertaking a project in the workplace which needs to be completed on time and within budget can be somewhat daunting, leaving you wondering where to start. Project managers are in demand throughout the world and managing a project is a specialised and complex task which often cannot be carried out effectively without the appropriate training.

Here at the IET we offer a variety of different courses around Project Management which range from a 1 hour e-class to a 5 day course. Below gives an overview of the different Project Management courses we offer:

Project Management Techniques – 2 day course

This course provides you with a toolkit to successfully manage and deliver engineering and technology projects. You will be introduced to tools for handling the various aspects of project management – technical, strategic, organisational and people management. Our public Project Management Techniques course is currently scheduled to be held in London in November and March and Manchester in June.

Fundamentals of Project Management – 1 hour e-class

This e-class is aimed at professionals with no previous project management experience, as a basic introduction to this subject. Our next Fundamentals of Project Management e-class is at 10:30am – 11:30am on 27th April 2018.

Prince2 Foundation – 3 day course

PRINCE2 (an acronym for PRojects IN Controlled Environments) is a de facto process-based method for effective project management. The three-day course is your first step towards becoming PRINCE2 qualified. It will give you an introduction to the principles of PRINCE2, help you learn how to use PRINCE2 to manage a project, how to handle risk and quality and how to control change on a project. The course is designed to equip you to pass the PRINCE2 foundation exam by comprising a mixture of input sessions and examination based practical work.

Prince2 Combined – 5 day course

In addition to offering the PRINCE2 foundation course, there is the option to complete an intense five-day training course which combines both foundation and practitioner qualifications.

Fundamentals of Project Management – 3 hour Lifeskill workshop

Our free, UK based, Lifeskills workshops are designed to provide a brief introduction to key topics, relevant to any professional looking to enhance their skill set.

All these courses are available to members and non-members of the IET so if you are involved in managing projects, why not take one of our courses or professional qualifications to maintain your competitive edge.
