It was indeed an experience for all Regional Present Around the World (PATW) delegates and CCAP members when they were in Hong Kong for the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Regional PATW competition. Every year IET organises PATW competition to encourage participants to develop and showcase their presentation skills. As usual, we have many talented young participants competing to represent Asia Pacific in the Global Final in London. This year winner was Padmanabhan Krishnamurthy from HK and 1st runner up was Sharma Ankur from Singapore. Congratulations to the winners and well done to everyone who joined.

The Regional PATW will not be a success without the support of volunteers from IET HK local network (LN). Special thanks to Chairman Engineer William Wan, Henry Chan, Young Professional (YP) volunteers from IET HK LN and staff at IET HK office for organizing and ensuring the safety of all participants from the moment they arrived in HK.  Next year the Regional PATW will be held at Christchurch, New Zealand.

At the same time, CCAP members also had their meeting on the 11th (whole day) and 12th Aug 2019 (half day). On the first day, a finance meeting was held to review the budget plan of all LNs under the Asia Pacific region. The meeting was chaired by Alice Chan, finance lead for CCAP. A checklist and IET Treasurer handbook was used by the committee to analyse the budget plan. LN members are urged to read the treasurer handbook and to ensure that charitable funds allocated to them are spent responsibly and in accordance with IET’s charitable objectives.
On the second day, the CCAP meeting was chaired by Siong Tang. Among some of the agenda discussed were:
-       Upcoming Community Volunteer Conference (CVC) which will be held in Brunei from 5th to 6th October 2019.
-       1st Regional Faraday Challenge competition which will also be held in Brunei on 5th October 2019.
