The IET Switzerland and IET Germany Networks are organizing a joint technical visit to GF Piping Systems in Schaffhausen on May 15th 2017.
GF Piping Systems is one of the three divisions of GF (Georg Fischer) and traces its root back to 1802 when Johann Conrad Fischer established a copper smelting plant in Schaffhausen. The company is now a leading supplier of piping systems for the safe and reliable transport of liquids and gases.

Sightseeing in Schaffhausen
Schaffhausen is in Switzerland, but very close to the German border, and is famous for the Rhine Waterfalls . If you arrive earlier to Schaffhausen, please have a look at the Sightseeing activities described in the attached document: Medieval old town, Rhine Waterfalls, Munot Fortress, Museum zu Allerheilligen and IWC Museum.

How to reach by Public transport:
From Schaffhausen main Station:

Bus no. 1 from train station in direction ‘Waldfriedhof’ to ‘Ebnat’ bus station. From there on foot in 7 minutes or by bus no. 6 to ‘Ebnatring’ bus station.


From Zurich HB to Schaffhausen main station:
16.35h: Take train IC to Schaffhausen, arrival 17:13h

From Stuttgart to Schaffhausen main station:
14:29h: Take the IC train to Schaffhausen (direction Zurich), arrival 16.45h

From Rhine Waterfalls
17.08: Take bus no. 1 (direction Waldfriedhof) to Ebnat, arrival 17.25h
17:25h: Take the bus no. 6 to Ebnatring, arrival 17:25h
