Now that the Vulcan Bomber is in storage along with the Canberra and Swift aircraft at Doncaster Sheffield airport until such time as a new hangar is built to house the aircraft, I thought I'd share this video with community members.  Hopefully if developments go to plan it could be the end of the year when the new hangar is ready.  See here for more details on the current status.

  • Can't help wondering if Doncaster was the right venue to retire XH558 to, especially now it and the Canberra are only in storage and not many if any visitors to raise funds.  Bruntingthorpe or even Elvington, that have large taxiable cold war jets and existing facilities might have been better locations.  With the best will in the world, even if funds available tomorrow a new hanger and visitors centre will be 2 - 3 years away.  Hope the public will stay supportive during that time.  Sorry for the employees who lost their jobs.
