This week was a busy week for IET Bahrain local network. Indeed, the local network was busy either via participating, or in organizing events. The three events are:
- The first was on Sunday, the 7th of May, and it was related to organizing an event about (Advanced Engineering Applications of Operations Research). This event was presented by two distinguished academics from (College of Information Technology, University of Bahrain). The event was attended by a number of academics and engineers, and IET YP in Bahrain, whom they helped in setting and the running the event.
- The second event came in terms of participating, that was on 8th of May (Monday) morning till afternoon. IET Bahrain local network was invited to talk about the role of civil societies in supporting STEM for women. That event organized by University of Bahrain, and supported by Supreme Council for Women. The event was attended by a number of known officials and well-know women that they talked about STEM. Three IET members were involved in this. Two IET women members (one was FIET), that they talked about Engineering and STEM in general, and in talking about supporting women towards the STEM and engineering. In addition, IET Bahrain LN chair was also involved in a session related to the (role of civil societies and engineering societies world-wide), IET was an example, in supporting women towards STEM.
- The third event was related to 9th GCC-IEEE International conference, that was run in Manama during (7-11 of May 2017). I particular, that was on the 8th of May at the Gulf Convention Centre in Manama. Within this event, IEEE YPM was also organizing a Robotics Challenge for a number of groups. IET also helped in the run of the challenge via playing the role of judges. This event was a successful event also.
