The Western Australia Young Professionals stream is proud to organise yet another successful How To Win A Job. We are excited to go back to Murdoch University and this round not only we have students from Murdoch University attending the event, we also have students from across the other three public universities in Perth!

We have a panel of experienced speakers of diverse background. We are pleased to have Erica from Murdoch University Careers Centre, Scott Dennett, geotechnical engineer from BHP Billiton, David Beards, National Manager from Vocus Communications and Darren Bowles, Managing Director of GTE Group. Each speaker has brought forward their experiences and knowledge to the crowd, whether as a fresh graduate who has undergone the recruitment process or a senior engineer on the interview panel. The workshop is immediately followed by some light refreshment and networking opportunities.

It was great to see students taking the first step forward to attend an informative event to learn how they can map their own future career pathway. From the marketing perspective, it is wonderful to know students are interested and curious to find out more about the IET and what we do. Last but not least, on behalf of all the Young Professionals team, I'd like to thank our guest speakers, Erica, Scott, David and Darren for volunteering their time to share their experiences, knowledge and tips to everyone. Thank you for your contribution for the Western Australia engineering community.

It sure was a great event Winnie Lee‍. Unfortunately for some reasons I cannot upload photos to this post through my iPad. Maybe we can improve the Engineering Communities like have an app so it makes the user experience more friendly?
