What are Technical Networks
TN’s are typically driven by an executive committee of volunteer experts, who are responsible for delivering knowledge-sharing activities.
TN’s are an integral part of the IET’s strategy. Their aims include: providing high-level technical content; supporting the IET’s knowledge portfolio; and giving members important networking opportunities.
About the Vision and Imaging Technical Network
Covering all aspects relating to the generation, processing, communication, understanding and presentation of visual information.
The network is looking for young professionals to join the committee to provide a different perspective and develop their knowledge of the subject.
About this role
We are looking for Young Professional Committee Members!
As part of this role you will be responsible for:
Sharing your ideas in committee meetings
Leading on a specific activity, or series of activities
Completing activity proposals, using your expertise to produce a viable and successful proposal
Networking at community and other events to build the technical community
Supporting the Chair in developing plans
Adhering to the IET's volunteer policies
What we’re looking for
An individual who:
is 35 and under
is passionate about their field of work and wants to be more engaged
has great time management skills
is eager to collaborate, contribute ideas and learn from others
embodies the IET values (integrity, excellence and teamwork)

Location: Various Meetings are currently held online only, but when in-person meetings are allowed x2 meetings a year will be held in London, with x2 virtual
Hours: As many as you can offer! Meetings are between 2-4 hours each and there is work to do in between meetings
Support: Committee, IET Community Manager, IET Volunteer Support Unit
Communication Methods: Email, phone, in person, online (each volunteer is eligible for a Volunteer Office 365 account)
Length of post: 2 years
