Unlucky Drogheda Cat!
Visiting a radio station in Drogheda, Eire, back in the mid 80s. One MW transmitter was located behind the Rossnaree Hotel and the TX was ‘built’ into a wooden garden shed. I say ‘built’ as it comprised a chassis with the valves on and strings of diodes and bare connections carrying the 3kV HT supply draped across the floor. There were a couple of planks missing from the back and a domestic fan blowing on the valves to keep them cool. Chatting to the engineer he said that the previous christmas he'd opened the shed to find a local moggy welded to the HT, presumably trying to find somewhere warm to settle down. It found it a bit hotter than expected!
