Share your current workshop project!

With a many countries asking their citizens not to leave their homes unless absolutely necessary, I know there are those of us who will be making the most of this time to undertake some of those 'when I have the time' activities such as redecorating the house, digging up the garden, tinkering with the car or bike in the garage etc. But what about our members and engineers? What are you up to?

Are you in your shed or workshop working on a project that you've been meaning to do 'when you get time'?

Do you have a shed like this? Would you like a shed like this? ?

  • Currently fitting a new motor to my milling machine so I can finish machining the bridge for the electric Bouzouki I'm building!
  • I am making an SU style carb for my 12cc two cylinder engine. The model aircraft style carb I am using at the moment does not match the engine well enough under load. The round body is 15mm diameter.

This video is of a load test with the simple carb.

  • Thanks for sharing Roger!

What's the engine for? Is it a model aircraft? ?

  • Following a tidy up this afternoon:-

The current project below, fitting a GPS Receiver, Ovened 10 MHz Xtal Oscillator and a GPS Antenna Splitter with DC pass through together with a PSU into a new case. I have always been a bit wary of those open mains terminals!

One of my other current projects is collecting together what can be best described as memorabilia.

  • That's a nice playroom Clive ? ? Plenty of sockets and a red telephone in case of emergencies such as needing a cup of tea.

Lisa, the engine is intended for model tractor hence the need for flexibility under load. Propellers are a much easier prospect, as the revs drop the load drops. It's hard to stall and engine that's driving a propeller.
