Very clear explanation, although, there was mention about 3 minutes into the show that human beings were made up of what we might assume to be human tissues and the other 90% were bacterial microbes. A bit too much to swallow for me at the moment I suspect.

I've heard that before - we're born 100% human but die 90% 'alien'. But as I understand it, the count is by number of cells rather than amount of tissue - and I suspect bacteria cells are a lot smaller than typical human ones. Maybe think more along the lines of one dog with 9 fleas - only 10% of the organisms of the apparent dog are canine. That's statistics for you.
