On this day in 1938....

Sad to see that Otto Hahn is mentioned as discovering Nuclear Fission on this day in 1938, but there is no mention of his co-worker Lise Meitner.  She was more or less written out of the story (and the subsequent Nobel Prize) despite being instrumental in the work (I believe the realisation of the fact that the nuclei were splitting was hers) and having collaborated with Hahn for about quarter of a century.  This was perhaps not so much due to being a woman as with being Jewish, but she should also be remembered for the work.
