Institution of Technology (IoT)

Should The IET become The IoT - The Institution of Technology?
The IET is discussing topics like Internet of Things, 5G, Data Science, Aerospace, AI, Machine Learning, etc.
Is this what the new world is all about?
IoT seems like a nice name for an Institution.
MIoT for Member of the Institution of Technology.
What do you think?
Please share your thoughts?

IET is Institution of Technology but also of Engineering.
The Institution of Engineering and Technology.  So it covers both.

Firstly, the IET has to decide what it is.   Then it can get the right name.

So what does the IET offer?

On one side it is professional registration for engineers, but on the other side the publication of engineering and their social media outputs all seem to be focused upon school teaching of STEM, and encouraging young girls in to engineering.   Therefore it seems more to be trying to support primary and secondary school teachers.

Institute of Professional Registrations and School Teachers.  IPRST.

And this eventually newly denominated Institution could have Specialist Forums like this, for example.
