What time is the phone call?

Due to my local Council cancelling all meetings etc, I have had a system generated email from them asking me to call in on Tuesday for a conference call  at:

15:00 (UTC+00:00)

So do I call in at 3:00pm  BST or 4:00pm BST?

Having worked for 25 years on a GMT/UTC clock at sea, I would argue 4:00pm (BST) based on 15:00 UTC + 1:00 DST, but I somehow think that others involved will call in at 3:00pm (BST)  Think I need to query this in the morning...

  • I have seen this sort of thing before. It reminds me of a saying: "To err is human; to really screw things up takes a computer." I think that applies here in a mild way.

I suppose it is too much to expect the time to displayed something straightforward, like "3:00 pm", presuming it is BST, since that is what we are all working to now.

Actually, no. My computers will display in any time format or date format I please. Which reminds me of another saying: "Garbage in; garbage out."
