BS 7211 cable, is it only single insulated

Hi All

I've got a big load supplied by some 120 mm single cable.  It's attached to a metal junction box with some glands.  It seems to me that when it leaves the JB it is only then single insulated and therefore should be enclosed.

What do you think?

Yes, if it really is effectively 6491B, then it needs an enclosure around it for further protection.

I agree with OMS, though if it has a class 5 conductor then it could be 6381B, which may well be insulated and sheathed, or 6181B which would likely be white on the outer sheath.

If the wiring is phase coloured (or similar) & class 2 then likely it is just basic insulation and therefore requires additional mechanical protection.
