Dear Colleagues,
In the 21st century Built Environment became the largest capitalised sector of global economy driven by
- globalisation of trade and commerce,
- global population mobility and urbanisation,
- construction of large-scale infrastructures and new cities,
- advances of engineering and applied science and technology
- supporting BE construction at enormous scale
- and at enormous speed
GLOBAL CONSTRUCTION MARKET
- to grow $8 trillion to $15.5 trillion by 2030 driven by China, US and India.
The IET BE Sector Community is well fit to be a platform for members working together
to face challengers and find solutions for development of global BE.
BUILDING ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEERING SPECIALIST NETWORK
- “The value of a network increases dramatically when people form subgroups for collaboration and sharing”.
- David P. Reed, Computer Scientist
ARCHITECTIRAL ENGINERING GROUP NETWORK STRATEGY
- integrating AE into IET global communities blog system
- organising IET cross‐countries’ ideas and experiences exchange webinars
- building partnership with local and international BE institutions
- participating in activities of local and international construction organisations
- creating AE forum available for members and public
- AE Newsletter circulating through IET network and available to public
- actively networking with construction engineering, architecture and design schools
- organising workshops and seminars on AE
- participating in IET STEM activities in supporting careers in AE
- discovering engineering talents for AE and BE engineering disciplines
- supporting career development in AE
- participating in industry conferences, shows, exhibitions
- involving in development of future generation of AE engineers
- working together with engineering, design and architectural schools
ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEERING GROUP'S STRUCTURE
Architectural Engineering Group's proposal’s main agenda is to build a group of engineers
with expertise in AE and BE disciplines for advancement of sustainable built environment and
setting standards and ethics principles for building current and future smart infrastructures and cities.
ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEERING
Architectural engineering, emerged as a specific engineering discipline combining architecture,
engineering and construction principles and technology for design, manufacturing,
production and construction of built environment structures and components.
ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGY
Architectural technology is a vital element of BE required for incorporating
architectural design into urban and industrial infrastructure providing
engineering methods, materials and equipment for building structures and buildings
reflecting architectural design’s contents, philosophy and aesthetics.
The wealth of knowledge, skills and experience of the IET members in various engineering fields
is the major contributing factor for establishing the IET Architectural Engineering Group
as an international platform for developing future smart built environment and building liveable cities.
ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEERING' ASSOCIATED DISCIPLINES
The AE Group may include IET members and members of other associated professional institutions
and individuals, who may contribute to development of future smart built environment
bringing their expertise in the BE vital disciplines including:
- construction engineering
- structural engineering
- electrical engineering
- mechanical engineering
- HVAC engineering
- ICT engineering
- materials engineering
- building services engineering
- environmental engineering
- infrastructure engineering
- health and safety engineering
- fire safety engineering
- transport engineering
- civil engineering
- architecture
- architectural technology
