Garden socket box

My wife has bought a set of low voltage garden lights where the transformer is mounted end on to a 13A plug.  Thus the measurement between the face of a 13A socket and the low voltage output cable is 12 cm. (Or 14.5 cm from the tip of the plastic earth pin to the output cable)

All the so called garden boxes that I have so far seen are way too big.  Has anyone seen a more suitably sized box?

Whilst we have a suitably located outdoor mains socket, there is no convenient window to utilise an indoor socket.

Thanks, Clive

  • I think that I have found a suitable box. A waterproof twin socket, but without the socket. So provided it fits, one cable in via one of the outlets and the LV cable, suitably enhanced in diameter, out through the other.  Will report back next week.

  • I like the idea of just having the 240V stuff under cover and dry  indoors, and if necessary just extending the E.L.V. cable to the place of use.
