THE LOCAL PATW EVENT APRIL 2016
A  successful PATW event was held April 14th, 2016 at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts.  Three speakers competed (two others dropped out at the last minute).  The topics presented were; (1) The CubeSat technology that allows universities and companies to test their own technology in space; (2) Teaching middle school students basic physics using a real device called The LifeStraw, to illustrate the physical priciples, (LifeStraw is a device used to provide drinking water to those in regions without access to water.); (3) the winning presentation described the redesign project for the US Army MOLLE rucksack that took account of the physical differences of female soldiers.  At the conclusion of the event, the winner was presented with a cash prize and the winner will now go forwarded to the regional final to be held in Toronto, Canada, later this year.
