“Inside Nature’s Giants” - New Guest Speaker, Simon Watt
Invitation to IET Lancashire & Cumbria Reception
- Wednesday 20th April at the Samlesbury Hotel, 6.30pm
- Please register attendance by 13th April

On Channel 4’s BAFTA winning documentary series, “Inside Nature’s Giants”, scientists went under the skin of some massive animals to figure out what made them tick. Come and meet presenter Simon Watt as we look at some of the fascinating science that didn’t make the final cut and learn about some of Mother Nature’s incredible engineering. Our Guest Speaker, Simon (replacing Rhys), is a biologist, writer, science communicator, comedian and TV presenter. His talk will give an entertaining and humorous introduction to what promises to be an enjoyable evening.

The Reception provides an opportunity to meet fellow engineers with their partners and friends in a sociable environment over a drink and light bites. Guests from local industry and academia are also attending, to meet with members and chat about the many exciting engineering activities and opportunities in our region.
Please register online at by 13th April to allow the arrangements for food and drinks to be finalised. There is a nominal charge of £5 per person; please send a cheque payable to “Friends of the IET, Lancs & Cumbria” to Mike Bell, 52 South Park, Lytham, Lancs, FY8 4QQ.
