HVDC Interconnectors, a case study of a 2000MW scheme - 12th October 2021, 6pm

Dr Norman MacLeod, technical director for HVDC at WSP, will review High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) interconnector operation, construction and planning in the UK and present a case study of one of the largest currently in planning, the 2000MW Aquind project which will will link the British and French electric power grids  with the aim of improving energy market efficiency, improving security of supply and reducing carbon emissions.

During the presentation participants will be able to submit questions and Dr MacLeod will answer some of these in a Q&A session at the end.
