Singapore is home to about 900 IET members. We organise technical talks as well as visits to major engineering projects in the city. We have a thriving student section at Nanyang Technological University.
IET Singapore Chair, 2015-17 Dr Bicky Bhangu is Chairman of IET Singapore Network. Bicky is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the IET. He is on the steering committee for the IET Aerospace Technical Professional Network (TPN) and is Committee Member of IET Communities Committee Asia Pacific (CCAP).
Bicky is Director Singapore at Rolls-Royce and is responsible for the country strategy, external relations and governance of the operational activities. He has a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham, an MSc in Control Systems, PhD in Advanced Machines and Drives from the University of Sheffield and an MBA in Technology Management. In 2009 he was recipient of the prestigious Sir Henry Royce Technical Innovation award for his work on integrated electrical power & gas turbine propulsion systems and he was the finalist at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Global Innovation Awards.
Bicky is Board Member of the Singapore British Chamber of Commerce and Chairperson for External Affairs. He served as the Chairman for Aerospace Industry Skills and Training Council (ISTC) supporting Workforce Development Agency (WDA) to oversee the skills development for the Singapore aerospace industry (2013 – 2015). He is serving the Singapore Maritime Port Authority (MPA) as select committee member for R&D investment in green port technologies.
Bicky is an Adjunct Professor at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
