The Bristol Network organises a monthly programme of informative lectures throughout the academic year.  Most of our meetings are held at either the University of the West of England or the University of Bristol.  We also organise site visits and other professional development events around the region.

As everyday systems become ever more interconnected, this talk explores development processes that lead to being able to fully trust the certification of the software components of high integrity systems and treat them as though they were hardware.

20 Feb 17 - The Life of a Bush Pilot: Operating Aircraft in Extreme Environments

For over 20 years, commercial bush pilot Bryan Pill has worked with the Mission Aviation Fellowship, flying from the deserts, jungles and waterways of Africa and Bangladesh.  His talk will give an insight into the challenges of operating in harsh conditions, the adaptations MAF pilots have to make to keep their machines flying, and the people they work with.

The Dyson 360 Eye Story
