We are all having to manage ourselves, colleagues and subordinates in this challenging circumstances.  As we move into the recovery movement control order (RMCO) in Malaysia, what are the impacts/ challenges or opportunities we should uphold in facing this new norm. Having both experienced panelists hailing from engineering industry and academic institution, an uplifting exchange of insight on the impact & challenges on the engineering industry/ small medium enterprise/ higher education institution/research enterprise/ professional bodies or even trade associations will be discussed in this forum.

Speakers: 
1. David Anthony Jones
    
Managing Director – APAC, Chartered Management Institute 

David is Managing Director-APAC for the Chartered Management Institute responsible for developing and managing partners and interfaces across the Asia Pacific region. David’s career was largely within the aerospace sector most recently as General Manager for a Swiss aerospace service provider. He has been an independent consultant, was VP-Sales Asia-Pacific, held senior roles with Rolls-Royce heading both their aftermarket strategy and South East Asia client base and has also held various management roles at British Airways.
David is past Chairman of the European Malaysian Chamber and sits on various committees, academic and government advisory boards including Pemudah and has lived in Malaysia for almost 30 years.

2. Dr. Fawnizu Azmadi Hussin
    
Chairman, IEEE Malaysia Section

Dr. Fawnizu is currently the chair of IEEE Malaysia section (2019 & 2020). He has been an active volunteer with IEEE Malaysia since 2009. Between 2009 and 2014, he was in the executive committee of IEEE circuits & systems holding various portfolios until he was elected chair in 2013. Since 2015, he has been in IEEE Malaysia executive committee until he was elected chair in 2019. As a recognition from the IEEE leadership, he was awarded the 2018 region 10 (Asia Pacific) outstanding volunteer award.
Dr. Fawnizu is an associate professor of electrical & electronic engineering at Universiti Teknologi Petronas. He’s been with UTP for 21 years. He has held various leadership roles such as deputy head of E&E department (2013-2014) and director of strategic alliance office (2014-2018).
Dr. Fawnizu was also a visiting professor at intel microelectronics (Malaysia) in 2012-2013 and Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT-UTM) in 2020.He graduated from University of Minnesota in 1999, University of New South Wales (MSC-2001) and Nara Institute of Science and Technology (PHD-2008).
