The talk will provide an overview of why nuclear medicine imaging is undertaken and differences to standard x-ray and MRI imaging. Development of these ideas will then show how nuclear medicine has advanced through to current technology with the use of combining imaging technologies into a single system and improvements in disease detection. Some brief final words to discuss potential future developments and show where technology may further develop, including the use of AI.
