Although often associated with locomotive engines or power generation, steam today is an integral and essential part of modern technology. Without it, our food, textile, chemical, medical, power, heating and transport industries could not exist or perform as they do. This presentation will introduce the audience to the basic properties of steam, demonstrate its various applications and explain how a modern steam system looks like.
