  • Distinguished  IET WORKSHOP:

Photovoltaic and Wind Renewable Energy Systems:  Principles, Design, and Regulations

In collaboration with University of Bahrain,  today Bahrain IET LN has finished voluntary  with registering (25 participates), as limited number of seats, to the IET Bahrain LN organized Distinguished  WORKSHOP entitled (DISTINGUISHED  WORKSHOP:   PHOTOVOLTAIC AND WIND RENEWABLE ENERGY SYSTEMS:  PRINCIPLES, DESIGN, AND REGULATIONS),  which will run in concurrent  (17th  World Renewable Energy Congress, 4-6 December 2016,  Crowne Plaza, Bahrain).

The (25 participates) are coming from different government  positions, academic, and industrial backgrounds.  All they have registered  their names to listen during the three days to new development of Photovoltaic and Wind Renewable Energy Systems:  Principles, Design, and Regulations.   The workshop will be instsryed by (Prof.  Ralph Gottschalg - Loughborough University, UK,  Dr. Tom Betts, - Loughborough University, UK,  Dr.  Maamar Taleb - University of Bahrain,  Dr.  Hanan Albuflasa - University of Bahrain).

During the congress event,  there will be a stand for IET Bahrain LN to show few materials related to IET prints, and IET materials related  (Energy).   Also IET roll-up stands will be posted during the event.

  • IET Distinguished  WORKSHOP  and IET Bahrain Local network participation in WREC17

    IET Distinguished  WORKSHOP:

Photovoltaic and Wind Renewable Energy Systems:  Principles, Design, and Regulations

    Crown Plaza Hotel, Manama, Bahrain.

    Associated with WREC17,

    17th  World Renewable Energy Congress,

    Organized by University of Bahrain

During (4-6) December 2016,  the 17th  World Renewable Energy Congress was organized by the University of Bahrain.  There were three functionalities associated with this event.  This included (the congress technical papers,  an exhibition,  and an IET workshop).  The workshop was organized by IET Bahrain Local Network, where the workshop efforts was done in a voluntary basis.  The conference was attended by almost  (250),  all together all they have interacted with the information about the workshop.   In addition,  the workshop was attended by (30) attendee.   As was mentioned earlier that the workshop was instructed by four academic members.  This includes   (1) Prof. Ralph Gottschalg

Professor of Applied Photovoltaics, Centre for renewable energy systems technology (CREST), Loughborough University, UK.   (2) Dr Tom Betts Senior Lecturer in Applied Photovoltaics, Centre for renewable energy systems technology (CREST), Loughborough University, UK.  (3) Dr. Maamar Taleb Associate Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, University of Bahrain, Bahrain.  (4) Dr. Hanan Albuflasa Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, University of Bahrain, Bahrain.

The workshop was very beneficial for all the attendee, where lots of discussions were observed during the three days’ workshop.   The workshop was not financially beneficialble  (as this is an non-profitable event),  and all the attendee attended the event as free seats (selectively) from various Bahrain official governmental organizations,  education, and industrial.

By the end of the three days workshop,  we found a number of MIET members and FIET fellow members ( including an previous IET council member attending the congress),  also they attended the closing ceremony and certification awards to the (30) personals attending the workshop.  It was such an interesting closing event of the workshop.

During the workshop, there were interest to see Renewable Energy MSc. Program from Loughborough University.  So a door was opened for one of the workshop participant, and also a Ph. D. possible entry was also granted to the Centre for renewable energy systems technology (CREST), Loughborough University .

In addition,  there was an interest from a number of the attendees to join the IET, and to get more news about events in Bahrain.  Those personals were added also to Bahrain IET LN email events broadcasting email list.
