I will Chair the IET Wales South West Local Network during the 2018-19 season.  To celebrate the WES centenary next year, I am aiming to increase the amount of women speakers at our events.  I would like to have as many women as possible presenting during the programme, speaking knowledgeably about their technical subject, and not about being women in engineering.

What does it involve?

The lectures are usually held on the evening of the third Thursday of the month from October through to June.

The lecture is usually about an hour in length, followed by some questions.

They tend to be located in either Swansea University, University of Wales Trinity St.Davids, or Tata Steel.

Attendance has tended to be between 15 – 50 people, depending on topic, advertising and how many friends the speaker brings!


I'm looking for speakers for all months of the year. In particular I'm looking for fun family speakers for Christmas 2018 and another for Christmas 2019.
