Sponsored by  London South Bank University , Arup , WSP, Association for Consultancy and Engineering, Royal Academy of Engineering and the Ilesa Trust , the Gala and Awards Dinner is the premier networking event of the year for STEM professionals/ students, BAME community groups, STEM promoters, stakeholders from engineering organisations, politicians and the wider community. It will showcase the AFBE-UK’s achievements over 10 years and its reach to a network of more than 6000 individuals of BME origin across the UK.

 

Hosted by former BBC broadcaster Henry Bonsu, the evening will begin with a drinks reception at 18:30 followed by the keynote address by Tom ilube (ranked number 1 in the Powerlist 2017 an annual listing of the UK's 100 most powerful Black Britons) and non-executive Director at the BBC. Thereafter guests will enjoy a splendid three-course meal. The climax of the evening will be the public recognition of the winners of the 10th Anniversary AFBE Awards. The evening will end with entertainment including Jazz and Afrobeats.
