Female role models in tv

I recently read this article on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/television-too-female-sexist-kunal-kerai. The author notes that with increased female representation, other females in a room are more likely to speak up against something being sexist.

The article highlights the discrepancy between female representation at top level (in this case in the television industry) and female population as a whole. If Nancy Drew is being cancelled by a nearly all-male board for being "Too female", what areas in other industries are being hampered or prevented by women's lack of representation on the boards?
