The seminar, jointly organised with ITS UK,  introduced Behavioural Psychology and Behavioural Insights, and indicated the potentially huge scope for applying them in Transport. I


It also explained how they have been applied in real situations, using a people-centred approach, indicating how technological advances will change the way we travel.



Topics addressed included:



  • Results from behavioural insights trials, and how behavioural insights and people-centred approaches are being embedded at DfT.

  • Transport project management: behaviourally informed ways of working.

  • Behaviour change in young and novice drivers.

  • Behaviour Change at Transport for London.

  • How people deal with travel disruption.

  • Investigating customer experience on the railway.

  • Gamification and active travel.
