All control and automation systems absolutely depend for operation and performance on measurement instrumentation (as well as on actuation devices). The IET IntMC exists to provide up-to-date information on measurement instrumentation, particularly sensor technology relevant to all industrial and service sectors and quality control applications---Transport(automobile,aerospace,etc),Energy Industries,Manufacturing,Process Industries,Medical and Healthcare,Food Industry, etc.Science and Applied Science is heavily dependent on measurement capability.

I would therefore expect all control and automation engineers, technologists and technical engineers to keep themselves well-informed on developments in measurement instrumentation.Enhanced and new control and automation systems can result from application of the new measurement capabilities.

I would like to encourage all members of the IET Control and Automation Community to now sign-up to the IET Int MC and view the various sources of knowledge, contacts and the reviews.

Measurement practitioners are very interested to hear about measurement problems and needs met by control and automation engineers.

We look forward to building our IET Measurement and Control Community.
