As cybercrime continues to be a top-level threat to the UK, can a computer game help to train people in basic techniques to deal efficiently with cybercrime?
According to Abertay University in Dundee, this is exactly what they have been tasked with, and succeeded in providing.
A a unique partnership between Abertay University, Police Scotland and Droman Crime Solutions has allowed for the creation of a prototype game to allow ‘users to enter and interact with a virtual environment where they have to make decisions about the application of legislation and police powers’.
Can online training realistically map what happens in a cybercrime, or is this just a tick box exercise to say that training has been provided?
