Should be an exciting event. With significant advances made in the application of machine learning to developing and assuring cost and schedule estimates; that will surely change the way practitioners work in the future. There will be lots of examples of how the 4th Industrial Revolution is changing the way we work.
  • You make a very good point Jason, for years changes have mostly been evolutional, but now with artificial intelligence, big data, etc. the possibility of a revolution is on the horizon. We know IBM have been using their Watson tool to look at how projects can be managed better, for a few years now. I expect a breakthrough soon in the management of the really big projects and once the technology is proven it will trickle down to ever smaller projects. Never has the future of project controls looked so interesting.
