We always need new volunteers to help with our in-school STEM activities.
The value of these to the young people is immense. You can help with careers fairs, running a pupil challenge, judging competitions, advising STEM and Science Clubs, helping with the new Scouts' IET Electronics Badge one evening.
Some may only be able to do this once or twice a year, maybe for only a half-day or with after school clubs. Others may be able to help on several occasions.
While it is a great help if you sign up as a STEM Ambassador and hold a DBS (was CRB) check, not having a DBS check does not bar you from helping because you will be accompanied by a teacher or STEM Ambassador whilst in the school.
The opportunities are most rewarding in the sense of fulfilment. We can help with travel expenses if needed.
