Radio TechCon - in the Turing Lecture Theatre

As part of the IET's activities at IBC we took over a room today for a number of IET, SMPTE and industry sessions, and a particularly interesting presentation came from Mark Mulready of Irdeto entitled "Taking the fight to the pirates" which discussed current day piracy problems and how and to what extent these can be controlled and cybercrime ... read more...

There was an interesting panel session in the main conference this morning - "Safety in Numbers" - about cybersecurity risks to the broadcast chain, but in this case primarily at the production end.  Interestingly there didn't seem to be any recognition of the industry bodies set up to tackle piracy (another form of cyber attack of course) at the ... read more...

For several years, the MMC has augmented the academic papers in the IBC Conference ‘Best of’ publication, with a selection of accompanying material from Electronics Letters.
