Tom Hlaing talks about how being an IET volunteer has greatly benefitted his career and presented opportunities beyond his day-to-day work.  From his journey as a Student Member, to volunteering with IET Local Networks, Boards and Committees , he has learnt valuable skills to get ahead in industry and is now influencing international strategy and operational business improvements with the IET. 


 

Tom has made a difference to how the IET is run both at a local and international level. He came on board as a student to fight for a wider range of lecture topics and industry events and as he’s risen up the volunteering ranks he’s more recently been involved in managerial and structural changes.
