The impact factor is a measure of the importance of a journal or its rank. The Journal Citation Reports (JCR) are published annually and provide a systematic, objective means to evaluate the world’s leading journals with quantifiable, statistical information derived from real data. The latest reports showed that all IET titles achieved an increase in impact factor, with a significant average increase of 45% across all titles.

IET journals of particular note include:

IET Power Electronics, which has achieved its highest ever rating of 3.547 and is in the top quartile for the Engineering, Electrical and Electronic category;

IET Optoelectronics, IET Circuits, Devices & Systems and IET Biometrics journals have seen ratings grow by more than 80%;

IET Computer Vision and IET Communications have seen ratings increase by more than 50%.

These fantastic results are testament to the hard work and effort that has gone into developing the journal portfolio; however, this success would not be achievable without the ongoing support of our members, readers, authors, reviewers, partners and Editorial Boards.

IET journals are available in the IET Digital Library. The IET also offers guidance and information for academic authors who are seeking to get published.
