Sonification.

When a fire test occurs in a building - the alarms are loud, people respond without chaos, wardens know what vested jackets to wear and where to stand to group the work force as they exit the building.

Similarly, If a system existed that could perform sonification on the activities of a SOC using big data techniques ( SAS or Hadoop ), then it would allow any SOC to be almost living and breathing. So, alerts at ISO layer 7 combined with alerts at ISO Layer 2 would have a different sound level, so you know exactly which product you need to zoom into during the first steps of the triage process.

Sounds that expresses different comfort levels during a compromise could support cyber alerting mechanisms in place. Perhaps a feature of a SIEM tool or perhaps to complement building security, the ability to use big data to combine different security perimeters using sonification techniques to provide SOC augmented-reality-training or even A-I methods to personifiy a living SOC make big-data and sonification methods an excellent place for technology innovation.
